WHY STUDIOJRENEE:
Jennifer Renee Ferguson – I’m giving you my full name, so that you will understand where StudioJRenee came from. I’ve started this blog so that I have the ability to stay in contact with our friends, customers and whomever would like to read and see what is going on at my studio.
WHAT I DO:
I have been involved in the decorative painting industry for over 18 years, I’m a self-taught artist that entered this industry through the “art of stenciling”. I have had a painting studio/shoppe since 1994 in Fresno, CA – Artistic Painting Studio is the place to find supplies, materials, stencils, etc. for any decorative painting project. We carry the complete line of Faux Effects(r) materials – Silver & Gold label – we are also a certified training center offering classes for everyone, from beginner to advance level artist.
WHAT I HAVE CREATED:
I have two stencil lines, my first collection is called The Stencilled Garden, which is a complete line of stencil designs. TSG has everything from florals, columns, critters, whimsey to sophistacated molding designs – there is over 350 different patterns available through our catalog or web site @ www.stencilledgarden.com. The other stencil line that I created is called The Black & White Collection that I designed under Artistic Painting Studio. This line was created with the decorative artist in mind, creating all the stencils in single overlay and cut in 10mil mylar. These stencils work wonderfully in many different materials creating unique finishes. You can view the complete line @ www.artisticpaintingstudio.com.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Over the past 18+ years I have been blessed with many opportunities – I authored four books, Painted Chairs, Painted Whimsies, TrashFormations and Painted Fabric Fun. These books are a wonderful inspiration for getting creative – they will show you many great projects step-by-step as well as just motivate you to get started.
I also have had the opportunity to appear as a guest on several differnent TV shows – You’re Home: Kitty Bartholomew – Smart Solutions with Maty Monfort and The Carol Duvall Show. I beleive that I was a guest with Carol Duvall for about 13 different shows – this was a wonderful experience and I have some great memories for being involved with the show for that long. You can still view projects that were created for Caroll Duvall and the other shows on www.hgtv.com – just go to the search box and type in my last name “Ferguson” - all of the segments should pop-up, then just click on the different projects and get started.
PERSONAL STUFF:
I have been married to Jim for 16 years and we have two incredible children (Ashley 16 & Tyler 14) – Yes, they are teenagers and we still love them! My hobbies are painting of anykind and anything - along with skiing with my son, knitting on occassion, shopping with my daughter, reading a good book while on vacation (this is the only time I ever have to read), going on great family vacations!
Our kids are very involved in sports – Ashley plays volleyball year round, we are currently in “club” season – which means we spend a lot of money and travel all over the place! Tyler loves baseball and it currently is baseball season (that means at least two games per week) and he has a passion for golf (or maybe that is an obsession???). So, between these two kids – all I do is work……some people would say I’m a workaholic – but, I perfer to say I just have a passion for what I do!
PURPOSE:
I’m hoping that I will find as much time as I would like to post here for you – I sometimes bit off more than I can handle and fall short occassionally. But, stick with me – I have some great things I’m hoping to share that will inspire us all, educate us a little and keep us motivated to create in any form!
